American professional basketball player Zion Williamson plays for the National Basketball Association's New Orleans Pelicans (NBA).
He performs the power forward role. Williamson was selected by the Pelicans with the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft after spending his freshman year with the Duke Blue Devils.
In 2020, he was selected for the NBA All-Rookie First Team. He was chosen to an All-Star game in 2021, making him the fourth-youngest NBA player to do so.
In his senior year, he was named South Carolina Mr. Basketball after leading his squad to three straight state championships. In addition, Williamson graduated from high school as a McDonald's All-American, Mr. Basketball USA runner-up, and USA Today All-USA first team selection.

He also received the Wayman Tisdale Award, five times was named ACC Rookie of the Week, was named AP Player of the Year, and was named Sporting News College Player of the Year.
