Beginning in the early 1960s, she started adding film and television jobs to her résumé.
She mostly worked as a background dancer in commercials, TV shows, and numerous movies, such as "Pajama Party," "Movin' with Nancy," and "Viva Las Vegas."
In the late 1960s, she finally started speaking on camera, and she immediately became well-known. She was praised for her performance in films including "Young Frankenstein," "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," "Mr. Mom," and "Tootsie," for which she was nominated for an Oscar.
She has also appeared in recurrent or guest parts on a number of television programs throughout the years, including "McCloud," "M*A*S*H," "Adventures in Wonderland," "Sabrina, The Teenage Witch," "ER," "Felicity," and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."
She ended her career in 2011.
