Rodney Billups is an American professional basketball coach.
He works as an assistant coach with the National Basketball Association's Portland Trail Blazers (NBA).
Three days after Joe Scott was sacked, on March 14, 2016, he was appointed head coach at the University of Denver.
Since 2012, Billups has worked as an assistant at Colorado. From 2002 to 2005, he was a player at the University of Denver.
After graduating from college, he played professionally for Kouvot of the Finnish Korisliiga and BK Riga of the Latvian Basketball League before deciding to pursue coaching.
Billups was chosen by the Colorado 14ers in the ninth round of the NBA Development League Draft in 2006.
He served as the head coach of the University of Denver, his alma mater. On March 14, 2016, three days following Joe Scott's dismissal, he was named head coach.
