Marlon Garnett is an American-Belizean coach and former professional basketball player.
Garnett represented Santa Clara University's Broncos throughout his collegiate career, earning West Coast Conference Player of the Year accolades in 1997.
In February 1999, Garnett became a member of the National Basketball Association after signing a free-agent contract with the Boston Celtics.
In 24 games, Garnett made an appearance and finished with 51 points, 21 rebounds, and 18 assists.
Later, he engaged in professional football in Europe (Spain, Italy, and Croatia), including a season with Benetton Treviso during which he captured the 2005 Italian Cup.
Garnett would serve as the San Antonio Spurs' player development coordinator and video coordinator for the 2015–16 NBA season.
On July 27, 2016, Garnett officially entered the NBA coaching ranks when he joined the Phoenix Suns as an assistant head coach and player development coach.
While Tim Duncan's exit from the NBA first piqued Garnett's interest, he finally made the decision to assist the Suns in order to properly develop the squad and support them moving ahead.
Garnett took over as the NBA Summer League's head coach during his second season with the Suns. On October 23, 2017, Garnett received a promotion to full-time assistant coach for the Suns.
On May 22, 2018, it was announced that Garnett would join the Atlanta Hawks' coaching staff under new head coach Lloyd Pierce.
