Larry Elder is a former attorney, author, and host of a conservative radio talk show.
He is best known for anchoring "The Larry Elder Show," a nationally syndicated talk show. He has written non-fiction books and has a syndicated column through Creators Syndicate as a writer.
Elder was a Republican contender in Gavin Newsom's unsuccessful recall attempt for governor of California in 2021.
Elder's longest-running job began in 1994, when he began anchoring "The Larry Elder Show," a weekday evening discussion show on KABC in Los Angeles.
The show aired until 2008, and then again from 2010 to 2014, ending when Elder was sacked. Elder was then included to the CRN Digital Talk Radio Networks lineup.
Elder began his television career in 1988, when he co-hosted the Cleveland PBS member station WVIZ's show "Fabric." Later, in 1997, he co-hosted the PBS show "National Desk" with Fred Barnes and Laura Ingraham, two more conservative commentators.
He rose to prominence in 2000 after moderating a KCAL-TV News segment called "Making Waves – LAUSD." He also hosted the syndicated court show "Moral Court" from 2000 to 2001.
Elder wrote op-eds for Cleveland newspapers in the late 1980s as a writer. He began writing a nationally syndicated column for Creators Syndicate in the late 1990s.
Until 2012, Elder also wrote a weekly column for the Los Angeles Daily News. He has also authored non-fiction books, many of which contain hateful, erroneous, or otherwise harmful ideas about culture and politics.
