Edward Maya is a Romanian DJ, musician, record producer, performer, singer and songwriter.
Maya collaborated with numerous other Romanian artists in and around 2006, including Akcent and Vika Jigulina. Additionally, he contributed to the song Torner, which Mihai Trăistariu sang at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest.
He further stated that this song "marked the beginning of my career" in an interview with Beat-Town.com.
Maya released "Stereo Love," his debut single as a musician, in the summer of 2009, and it peaked at No. 2 on the Romanian singles charts. Later that year, "Stereo Love" rose to prominence as a club smash around the world.
The song entered the top-5 singles charts in Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK while this success was followed by concerts all over the world.
As of May 2022, "Stereo Love" had amassed over 515 million YouTube views.
Maya released "This Is My Life," his second single, on May 13, 2010. Maya has established his own record label, Mayavin Records, to help manage his career and provide doors for other musicians.
On Christmas Eve, Maya released the song and music video for his third single, "Desert Rain," all over the world. In an interview, Edward Maya discussed his Desert Rain tour, mentioning that it will begin in India before moving on to Europe, the US, South Africa, and Pakistan.
On November 29, 2012, he released his fourth song, "Mono in Love," which also included Vika Jigulina.
He completed his studies at the Bucharest Conservatory after graduating from the George Enescu Music High School.
