Deni Avdija is an Israeli-Serbian professional basketball player for the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
He performs as a small forward. He began playing basketball in the fourth grade for his hometown team Bnei Herzeliya before switching to Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2013.
He is the son of basketball player Zufer Avdija. He was a star young player. At age 16, he made his senior squad debut in 2017, becoming the club's youngest player ever.
He was the youngest player to ever win the Israeli Basketball Premier League MVP award two years later, and he also helped his team win the league title.
Avdija declared for the 2020 NBA draft, and the Washington Wizards selected him.
He plays basketball for the senior national team of Israel. At the young level, he has won two gold medals for Israel, including one at the 2019 FIBA U20 European Championship, when he was voted the competition's MVP.
